This image began as a holy card which I photo transferred onto fabric. This image on fabric I stitched to a piece of red wool felt which in turn is stitched to a painted piece of leather. The background of turquoise leather has glass bugle beads stitched round it. The red wool felt layer has bronze colored glass seed beads sewn round it. And then turquoise colored glass seed beads are stitched in a frame round the Mary image. Her nimbus, necklace, and sacred heart are also embellished with glass seed beads. All elements are hand-stitched and beaded.
This original design was printed and encased in a hand-formed steel case with domed poly carbonate lens. Case and lens fabricated by Rhett in his studio. A split ring attached to the case allows a 24" nickel plated stainless steel ball chain slide through this piece of artwork designed to hang round your neck.
